Glasse’s Art of Cookery
Every genre has a collector, books on maps, animals, religion, and modern fiction all are collected. Within each field of book collecting are the cornerstone pieces that help to lay the foundation for all books to come. If you know of Julie Child’s “Mastering The Art of French Cooking”,Dali’s “Les Diners de Gala, or even Anthony Bourdain’s “Kitchen Confidential” you may also have heard of Hannah Galsse’s “The Art of Cookery” which is just such a cornerstone book in the field of cookbook collecting.
This was sewn on raised cords and bound in Steve Siegel Leather “Natural Goat”. It is, in fact, the same leather that I used on the ‘Ahiman Rezon”. I dyed it in washes of brown to get a mahogany appearance.
